In 2021, Beaux Arts Brampton (also known as Beaux Arts Gallery) received a $13,200 Resilient Communities Fund grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to rebuild and recover from the impacts of COVID-19. With this grant, Beaux Arts Gallery purchased technical equipment and software to support live and virtual engagement with the community and renovated our gallery space for physical distancing. This project was completed in December 2021 and has give the artist membership and community of Beaux Arts Gallery a safe place to interact, both online and in real life.

“Non-profit organizations like Beaux Arts Brampton are a crucial and valued part of our community, especially here in Brampton,” said Prabmeet Sarkaria, President of the Treasury Board of Ontario and Member of Provincial Parliament for Brampton South. “During the pandemic they have continued to provide local artists with the opportunity to showcase their work and connect with the community. Beaux Arts Brampton continues to raise the profile of visual arts and the local creative community in Brampton.”

In addition to purchasing technical equipment and software, our organization trained staff and volunteers to ensure the implementation of new approaches, prepare our organization for change and build resiliency. Beaux Arts Gallery is a key place for the community to engage in cultural experiences that are diverse, inclusive and safe. Thanks to the $13,200 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, the renovation and digital upgrades have allowed our gallery to continue providing our services and programs safely to the community and our artist membership.

“Non-profit organizations like Beaux Arts Brampton are a crucial and valued part of our community, especially here in Brampton,”

“As the impacts of COVID-19 reverberated through the arts and culture industry, it was absolutely key that our organization implemented online processes and safety measures within our space,” said Executive Director Regan Jane Hayward. “Our artist membership, volunteers and staff have an inclusive and supportive community that–through these challenging times–is so critical to not only strengthen but ensure sustainability, so it can continue to enhance lives within the organization and the community at large. We’re thankful that this funding has helped us do that.”

Beaux Arts Gallery is committed to engaging with artists at various levels in their careers to present their work in a supportive environment that fosters understanding of complex subjects and diverse sets of ideas. Our collaborative exhibitions, programs, and special events offer education, inspiration and celebration to foster critical thinking, positive social cohesion, and public engagement with ART. Beaux Arts is a not-for-profit gallery operating successfully since 2002. It was founded by the Brampton Arts Council and dedicated visual artists, with the support of the City of Brampton, Downtown Brampton BIA, Ontario Trillium Foundation, and many volunteers, members and private sponsors. If you wish to purchase an artwork or rent the space, please contact the gallery at 905-454-5677 or email us at info@beauxartsbrampton.org.
