Open Juried Photographic Art Exhibition

May 4, 2022 - June 4, 2022
Open Juried Photographic Art Exhibition

About the Exhibition:

The art of photography often captures the essence of a moment in time, suspending it for all eternity. But some moments do not belong to colour, gaining more from being simply what they are: compelling the viewer, dragging them into its focus, intersecting the components of what is, and what is felt.

There are those who say that nothing is ever black and white, but instead a spectrum of shades of gray. And while many things can count this true, there are moments, feelings, and entire worlds that belong to the stark, the compelling, the bare form and the contrast of black and white.

We invite our audience members to visit our gallery for our Open Juried Photographic Art Exhibition to see the captivating stills of monochromatic moments in time!

About the Juror:
At the age of 10, his mother handed him a disposable film camera on a family trip to Disney World. “You can take pictures of anything you like, but don't get the sun in the images.”

So you know what he did.

Edward Moffat is a Photographic Artist living in Brampton. He does portraiture, commercial photography and videography through moffatcreative.ca. Clients using his work include Voortmans Cookies, IBM, The Ontario Telemedicine Network, RBC, Panasonic, Canada Border Services, Hitachi Data Systems, Distillery District Magazine, and The IT Media Group around North America. Fashion and various forms of portraiture work have taken him coast to coast in Canada. He has been published in Canada, the US and Mexico.

Edward does private commissions and project work found at edwardmoffat.com. There he explores imagery he ordinarily doesn't get to do in a commercial setting. From helping models build their portfolios to exploring the beauty of the Canadian shield, he enjoys a variety of shooting styles.

Edward was formerly on the Board of Directors at Beaux Arts Brampton. He has taught Portraiture as well as Videography at Humber College's Photographic Techniques program and teaches photography and lighting classes privately in his studio.
