About The Exhibition:

"...The caged bird sings with fearful trill of the things unknown but longed for still and his tune is heard on the distant hill for the caged bird sings of freedom" (Maya Angelou, "Caged Bird" from Shaker, Why Don't You Sing? Copyright © 1983 by Maya Angelou.).

Black Art inspires! Encouraging us all to look forward with continued hope, anticipating an endless shift, a day when the cage door opens.

Beaux Arts Gallery stands in solidarity with the Black Community and recognizes its uniqueness, complexity, struggles and its beauty.

I Know Why, Beaux Arts February Feature Show, in honour of Black History Month, displays artworks from Black artists in an exhibition that not only demonstrates our committed effort to supporting Black culture and its many contributions to the arts, but also serves as a platform meant for the celebration of Black Artists, who undoubtedly deserve a place to be seen, heard, and above all, valued.

Exhibiting Artists: Celia Wilson, Pauline De Four, Kofi Frempong, Carrie Campbell, Tyler Andrews, Jasmine Rock, Justine Darby, Antoinette McCurdy, Tina Alleyne, Edward O'Connor, and Sarah Terrill
